Today is a big day in the history of Jack Marlow. Our brand new website is now live, and we're introducing three new products.

Our New Website

It seems a weird thing for a Digital Agency to have no website, but it's also surprising how many don't! We've collaborated with a couple of small firms over the last year and a half or so whose websites consist merely of a logo, an email address, and a phone number - but they still produce great work. The old adage that the plumber's house has the worst pipes probably applies here.

It was with that fact in mind as a consolation that I decided a little while back (after Google's Mobile Update) that we were b...
Recently, Jack Marlow again had the opportunity to work with our friends and clients at Lower Plenty Dental, one of Melbourne’s finest small dentists. Having much in common, being a relatively small but very hard-working business, we always relish the chance to get our hands onto a project as rewarding...

Unique Catering Products are a recently rebranded business who import commercial cooking equipment for the hospitality industry and needed a new website to show off their new brand, showcase their products, and list their suppliers.

We've built stockist search tools for a few wholesalers before, but U...
We love building longstanding relationships with our clients - Riverina Regional Tourism, the peak tourism body for the Riverina in southern NSW, have been a Jack Marlow client for three years now. We've helped them integrate to ATDW (Australian Tourism Data Warehouse) and since then have helped them grow the Riverina Tourism Brand. In 2015 w...

You might have recently heard about an upcoming update to Google search, which is focused around mobile compatibility. Google will be changing how it ranks websites on April 21st, and websites that aren't mobile friendly - or don't have a mobile friendly version - will be penalised.

The good news is that all Jack Marlow websites are either Responsive (meaning they're mobile friendly out of the box) or are mobile compatible via an alternate version. Better yet this mobile layout, if it's not already on your site, is free!
The mobile layout that Jack Marlow uses for non-responsive sites ta...

What a start to the year! We've had a supremely busy first quarter of 2015 - we've moved into a new office and now need to grow our team to keep up with the flow of work.

If you'd ever tried to get a park near our William Street office, you'll be relieved how much easier it is now; our new digs in Abbotsford are up and running. This new space will give us room for the next stage of our growth and the central but not-too-central location makes it easier for us to get out and see clients - and for clients to come visit us.

A big thankyou to our clients both long-standing and new for your support; we look forward to continuing to grow with you, and would love you to pop in...

Once a week the hamburger place down the road has a $10 hamburger meal deal so it almost seems like a waste of money not to get a hamburger.

But those aren't the kinds of hamburger menus I'm talking about today!

We all enjoyed this article recently from the Red Booth blog "Why We Banished The Hamburger Menu From Our iPhone App"

The Hamburger Menu is probably one you're familiar with even if that's not what you call it. Three horizontal lines that sit in the top left or right corner of a mobile website or app and slide open to reveal the main menu for the website. On the Redbooth blog Rachel Kuma...
We're very proud to have been working with the Society for Mental Health Research and the ABC over the last few months to help pull this week's Mental As... campaign together. It's great to be able to work on projects in aid of such an important cause and an honour for us to again work with Professor Pat McGorry, 2010 Australian of t...

Here in the future it's a safe bet that 40% or more of the traffic to your website comes from devices, not from computers. People reading your blog on the train trip home from work, someone frantically price checking a product on your site while they're at the shopping centre, someone whipping out the credit card to tap the details into their tablet.

When we started Jack Marlow back at the end of 2008 we wanted to build a platform that our clients would not only love to use, but would deliver them real results on the web.

A lot has changed in 6 years! Back then the iPhone was only a year old, the iPad didn't even exist yet and the various netbo...
