It's been a long time between blog updates here at Jack Marlow but we've been working hard behind the scenes and we've got some exciting stuff to show off!

This week we're absolutely thrilled to launch the new website for the Society for Mental Health Research. I'm not the only one at Jack Marlow who's pretty passionate about Mental Health so we're all pretty excited to have been able to work on this project!

The SMHR website is fully responsive - meaning that the site is automatically resized and reformatted for whatever device you happen to be on - whether it's a phone, a tablet or a desktop.

People have been building mobile-specific layouts for many years but what I love about building websites that are fully responsive is that they just work regardless of the device or screen size. It's not just mobile vs desktop - you should have a great website experience whether you're using a 13inch USB screen, a 27inch iMac, a 19inch widescreen monitor or an iPhone or iPad. There's a huge variety in screen and device sizes these days and those are just the devices I've got on my desk right now

It was only a few years ago that I could assume that visitors on older computers would have smaller screens than visitors on newer computers; these days that is simply not the case.

After talking so gleefully about responsive websites for a while you might notice that our own website is not responsive... but we've got a new website in the works and some big changes and announcements to make. If you'd like to be amongst the first to see our new website please sign up to our newsletter and we'll let you know when it launches!
