Truss is our locally-developed software platform that lets us deliver big agency results at small agency scope.

Fully supported and based on years of development, it can be tailored to your requirements - no matter how big or small.

The Truss Platform's history begins in 2002, when our director, Kieran Morrissey, wrote a Content Management System called NodeEngine for a small community project.

Over the following five years this was used for projects including:

WalkSmart/CycleSmart (Victorian Department of Infrastructure)
This project was a behaviour-change website that collected pedometer or cycle computer statistics from its users daily by automated email. The website then provided the user with daily motivation, easy-to-read statistics and a comparison of how they were tracking against other users of the system and benchmarks recommended for good health. The system was "skinned" for use by a number of local councils and large corporates including CSL and the City of Darebin.
Ourimbah Walking Program (University of Newcastle)
Following from WalkSmart and CycleSmart, this was a custom rebuild of the system for use by the University of Newcastle's Ourimbah campus.

When Jack Marlow was founded in late 2008 it inherited this system and the team set about rebuilding it from scratch to similar design principles with newer technology, with a renewed focus on the needs of SMEs. Since 2008 we've developed this platform into a mature and stable CMS, CRM, and general middleware system to help Small Businesses across Australia tie their systems together with ease.

In 2014, Jack Marlow rebuilt the frontend of the system to make it Responsive - compatible across devices, with the layouts of admin tools and the website resizing to fit the screen. In 2015, Jack Marlow re-launched the platform as Truss, incorporating Truss CMS, Truss RTO, and Truss CRM.

We're a big believer in taking full responsibility for everything related to your website - we operate our own network, and host all our clients' websites.

Today the Truss platform is used by hundreds of businesses across Australia every day. For many of these businesses the platform is mission-critical, which makes it mission critical for us too.

We own and maintain our own Cloud Infrastructure. This means that if something breaks, it's ours. We fix it. We don't ring outside consultants or sit in support queues.

We run networks in Melbourne and Sydney. This means that even if we completely lose one of our facilities, websites go straight back up on the other one. We can ride through network failures without interruption of services.

We monitor our systems 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If anything goes wrong, we know about it before you - or your customers - do.

Our team is on hand if you need assistance, 9AM to 5PM Monday to Friday.

If you've ever dealt with IT contractors, as a business owner you'll know how frustrating it can be to be shunted off to another company to try to relay technical information, chinese-whispers-style.

That's not how we do things. Our clients can rely on us to be their single point of contact for everything web - we're happy to talk to other techs on your behalf to get things done. We're happy to spend the time to make sure your email is working, and that other providers are looking after you too.

The way we see it: if it's too hard for you to do yourself, that's not your problem - it's ours
